Halcyon recognise many of the challenges faced in machinery safety compliance and how it can impact adversely on your productivity. Pulling together our knowledge of machinery safety standards, and our years of experience with control systems, we are equipped to offer a range of services that make these challenges less of a burden.

From our own expertise and working closely with independent consultants Halcyon are able to make detailed assessments of your machine(s). The level of information required is optional. Most audits we carry out fall into the following two categories:

PUWER 98 assessment ………. Report detailing the status of a machine relative to the 39 regulations which fall under the ‘Provision and Use of Work Equipmet Regulation PUWER 98.

Risk Assessment ……………. Detailed report which requires customer involvement to establish risk levels on all the hazardous situations associated with the machine and includes suggested solutions to adequately reduce risk levels.

Halcyon Drives have been building control panels for nearly 20 years. Combining our experience of system design with our knowledge of machine safety gives us the ability to design very effective safety solutions. To achieve a good safety system Halcyon believe the emphasis should be on a thorough risk assessments and accurate Functional Design Specifications (FDS). We aim to work closely with our clients to achieve a safety function which is the most practical and least impacts on productivity.

We have completed successful projects for many companies include large Blue Chip organisations such as BAE, Jewsons, 3M and The Northern Food Group.

Whether re-wiring a single E-Stop or integrating a safety system to a whole production line we can also offer an installation package at moderate rates. Interfacing with existing systems, commissioning and re-programming software falls within our expertise and scope of supply.
